New Delhi, May 30: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence in New Delhi. The meeting marked Sarma’s first formal interaction with the Prime Minister after assuming office as Chief Minister for a second consecutive term.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister briefed the Prime Minister on the initial progress and priorities of the newly formed NDA 3.0 government in Assam. Sarma also expressed gratitude to PM Modi for his continued support and leadership, while seeking his guidance and blessings for the state’s future development initiatives.

Sharing details of the meeting on social media platform X, Sarma wrote, “Honoured to call upon Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji in New Delhi today. I briefed him on the headstart we are making in the NDA 3.0 Govt in Assam, thanked him for his unstinted support and sought his continued blessings and guidance in the coming years.”
The meeting comes at a significant time as the Assam government begins its new term with a renewed focus on governance, infrastructure development, welfare programmes, and economic growth. The interaction also reflects the close coordination between the state government and the Centre in advancing developmental goals in the State in particular and the Northeastern region as a whole.
Political observers view the meeting as an important step in strengthening Centre-State cooperation and ensuring continued support for Assam’s development agenda under the NDA leadership.
